Strategic Planning for Digital Libraries

Digital libraries are not about technologies, but about relationships between producers, users, documents, and technologies. Planning digital libraries must be situated within a complex and dynamic social and technical environment wherein the critical challenge is to manage these relationships such that a useful service can be provided.

Among the keys to successful digital library projects are effective leadership, a well-defined set of objectives, effective management of technology, and paying attention to evaluation and feedback.
