Abstract
The subject of this article is implementation of information system with unified access to distributed resources. The investigation focuses on common problems of access to distributed heterogeneous resources and on main components of such system. Special attention is given to different types of information resources: local, remote and associated. This paper presents basic principles of combined application of two protocols - Z39.50 and HTTP. As an example we provide some description of practical realization of such system, based on IRBIS software. This system is now developing at the Institute of Scientific Information on Social Sciences.
