Digital library of old printed books in the Russian Academy of Sciences Library

The paper presents the approaches to the planning of the digital collections in the Russian Academy of Sciences Library. The approaches include the development of main principles of the digital collections, the planning of work, structure of digital copies, access to the data, structure of the metadata. As examples two projects carrying out in the Library at the moment are discussed - The Multimedia System "Publications of the St.Petersburg Academy of Sciences and its Printing House in the 18th century" and the digital collection "Books Published in the Our Lady Dormition Abbey in the Town of Potchaev (Ukraine)".
